Many people value higher education for monetary reasons. They believe that a higher education will allow them to find more lucrative careers that have high salaries and bountiful opportunities for raises and bonuses. These monetary benefits may be able to increase a person's living condition because he or she will be able to afford housing and health costs. Despite these monetary reasons, there are other reasons why higher education is important.

For me, it is necessary to further my studies at the tertiary level. It is because there is a lot of positive benefit that we can get when I further my studies at the tertiary level.  First, I can enhance my marketable skills. Receiving an advanced or additional degree means I will be learning new skills. Master's courses are specifically designed to impart a set of skills that help me in the real world. Once the courses are completed, these skills help me to perform better in my current career, open up new opportunities and make me more competitive candidate for promotions and other positions.

Then, by further my studies at the tertiary level, I can become an expert. Continuing my education gives me advanced knowledge about my area of study. Between research assignments, advanced courses and learning from established experts, I will eventually earn a reputation as an expert in my field.

Other than that, I can establish new connections. Perhaps the most important reason of all, I'll interact with new people once I return to school. I'll communicate with my teachers and work with other students on projects and communicate with them through online message boards. This interaction may lead to new career connections. These connestions may help me find a new career altogether or result in helpful contacts for my current one.

Last but not least, a sense of personal fulfillment. The last time I accomplished something great, it may have been my last degree or completing a particulary difficult project at work. I probably experienced a feeling of tremendous personal fulfillment by overcoming the challange. Instead of constantly talking about going back to school, actually doing do is the first step on my path to further fulfillment.
